Responding to discussions

I expect this has been covered many times but I was just wondering how the majority here respond to comments on their discussions. Do you just 'like' or do you prefer to respond? I don't have a clue how it affects our earnings and I'm not too bothered but I do like to leave a response to show I appreciate someone taking the time to reply and of course I will leave a like too, but I don't like to leave meaningless comments so there are times when I prefer to just leave a like. What do you do?

@m_audrey6788 Yes I read a discussion from another poster who mentioned this.

Sometimes I just leave a like because I find myself struggling to find a good response.

I try to leave a comment-even if it takes me some time to get back to people. I only like a comment when I have no idea what to say.

Very seldom, I just leave a like, if I read a discussion, but it was questionable. I usually leave a short comment.

@kobesbuddy I think it shows that we are appreciative that someone has taken the time to respond our discussion.

Thank you @m_audrey6788 for the suggestion. Well as for me for the little time i have been here, i like commenting as opposed to liking if i have something to contribute to the post. This is because you interact more with people and get to learn alot.I can however like another respondent's comment if it was interesting. But to be honest i do not like pretending i only give honest likes and i do not like other people's comments just for the sake. I keep it 100% real

@Kind4321 I only read the topics I am interested in so if I randomly pick something I'm not really interested in I will just leave it without responding at all and find something I do like.

I respond to all comments on my post and if someone leaves a one word response than I will just like it. I try to be fair on my post and other post as well.

@Blondie2222 if it's only a one word response there's probably not a lot you can say about it.

I like to respond to every initial response and then if I have something more to say to further responses. A like is a response but most of the time I like to say a bit more if I have something to say.

@1hopefulman I try to reply to everyone who answers my discussions as I think if they have taken the time to respond, the least I can do is show my appreciation by talking to them.

I prefer to respond as well. If it's interesting, I can usually find something to add. If I can't think of anything good to say, I might hit like instead.

I might like something but not want to comment on it. Comment only on the discussions you like. That is what I do. But you can comment on something you may not like but as long as you don't start an argument, you know what I mean. We don't always agree with other people so it's best not to comment if the discussion is in some way unfavorable to you personally but if you feel strongly against something your comment is often used to create a counter point that actually is good to promote more discussion and more interactions. Follow some examples you read that have opposing points of view but that are done in a creative way that sparks debate. It is always good to get more than one point of view of things.

@lookatdesktop I can't imagine myself starting an argument although I must admit I have been riled at times, not here but on other forums. As you say it's good to read different opinions and there have been times when I have had my point of view changed. It's all part of the fun

That is one thing I asked one friend here if hitting like will affect our earnings so hopefully we can find answer here. Since I am new to this system as I have been away a long time hit like in most of the responds and comments I receive. Mostly I respond and hit like.

@sprite1950 Glad to know that. So here we can just hit like without leaving a respond and still earn? Just kidding.

Not every response to a discussion required a replied or likes. It is good to use the reply and likes tools when necessary so as to make discussion organized and beneficial. It won't make sense to like any response that is out of context
