Getting the message across

Our last night in the motor-home in Ireland was spent at the harbourside town of Courtown. They have some creative people working there and are obviously intent on educating dog-owners to clean up after their pets. I’ll share other signs with you later but I thought this one was quite creative.

It's clever isn't it? And very true considering how besotted some owners are.

@judyev My eyes happened upon this one: "Don't spoil the lovely sight with not so lovely doggy shite".

If they can come up with something a bit out of the ordinary, it does catch people's attention.

Shame shame that some owners have to be reminded like this.

We saw a few owners that didn't bother to pick up after their dogs - and one that went back to his caravan for a bag then couldn't find the pile of poo. At least he meant well!

This is a great way to address the problem of irresponsible dog owners, humorous too.

I think serious messages have a bit more impact if you can add a bit of humour.

@JudyEv Yes, many dogs are spoiled rotten, which indicates to me that they have their owners trained very well!

Judy, thank you for posting this sign. It was very beautiful and here in Israel there are those that clean up after their dogs and others that do not. I saw a movie once where this guy had a dog and did not clean up after his dog and someone stepped in it and chased the guy through the park. I don't remember what happened but thought I would share that here.

It is awful to step in dog faeces. I think more and more are now doing the right thing and picking up after their dogs.

@JudyEv Yes, it is awful to step in it and have to clean it off afterwards. People here either pick it up or do not still. They say they will fine people but I doubt if they do.

Very popular signages around here and they even put some litter plastic boxes where you can get for free to use in picking up pets litter

Signs and rules are one thing (even penalty if get caught) but some owners like having dogs but not the obligations going with having them.
