Curses

Frig, frack, frik, freak, are good substitutes when it comes to the F-word. But really how harmful can the F-word be? I know here, to keep a professional environment a lot of curse words are censored. Which I understand, I don't like it, but I understand. Even as a child, I was never one for censorship. My mom tried to keep from saying curse words in front of me, but hey...you hear a lot in public school. American tv shows have a lot of censorship and with some shows it can be quite annoying. But apparently, many networks are starting to be more lenient with a lot of censorship and let them use the F-word. American Horror Story has done it and the season finale of Fear of the Walking Dead used the f-bomb. Which is honestly is very exciting! I know a lot of you are probably thinking this is nuts and there is no need for swears, they are just wrong. Well, what is the different between saying the F-word and saying Frik? There is literally no difference other than the spelling, it is just a word. It is like saying cat or pumpkin. it is just a word. But what makes it so exciting that swears or WORDS are being welcomed to shows is that...think of about it. You see how violent The Walking Dead is, there is gore and touchy subjects everywhere! So, why can't they say the f-word? also..I would highly doubt that anyone in the apocalypse would be able to not say any swears at all...let's be realistic. So soon the f-word will probably show up in The Walking Dead and probably other cable shows that are already of a high age rating. And I think that is progress. I only ask that the first person to say the F-word on The Walking Dead is Negan because after all it is his favorite word. I mean, there is already a clip of Jeffery Dean Morgan doing Negan's speech from the comic book and...it has a lot of swearing, but it was done beautifully! I feel like not a lot of people are going to enjoy this post...But, who cares! Perhaps someone will agree with me.

I agree with you. I don't even think racial slurs are that bad. Of course, not something you should say to a stranger, but if you're talking with friends and teasing them, why not? I went to look at the list of ethnic slurs on Wikipedia, there were lots of words I've never heard of. I didn't even know "eskimo" was offensive. But yeah, the F-word is just a word, you use it for cursing, and that's it! Bloody hell!

I am not a fan of slurs because they are a form to insult just because a person is a certain skin color or from somewhere else, which I just think it is silly to judge people by, unless the friends are okay with it, but still should be careful. But the f-word is so senseless, curse words are just words! and some random person was just like, how dare you! That just sounds like an offensive word! It is silly how some things become taboo.

@DesirousDreamer I see. Yes, they are a form of insult, but they are often just used like gender-specific insults, such as the B and W-words. I don't think people usually insult women by using the B-word because they're females, but because these specific women are "expletives". Then, of course, there are exceptions. Oh, maybe someday "freak" will be considered to be offensive too.

It is a very harmful word no matter the intentions that the user has.

How? It is 4 letters, so is blue, cake, late, stay, same, etc. There is no reason for it to be harmful, because it isn't.
