This was not a post I had in mind when I came here, so it is going to be all over the place..please bear with me. I feel not everybody has the right make up to be a gun owner. While crime rates are alarming and police at a distance too far, and Interstate traffic much too difficult to weave through when speeding vehicle causes accidents, the fact remains that not everybody remains cool. There has to be a measure like IQ measure to assess whether a person can remain cool even under trying situations. Likewise, there should be a measure to check whether the person is meticulous enough to be keeping gun in a place that it is not accessible to other members of his family or friends or people who work for him, or even casual laborers. Based on such measures we can decide who deserves to own a gun. The present way of giving licenses can kill innocents in schools, which does not go down well with me. If Americans are against people's health being harmed by food they eat, medicines they take to cure some ailment, why aren't they against giving imbeciles access to guns? Cannot understand Americans..

Agree with your point. Though if you are in a murderous rage, anything may serve as a weapon.

@Daljinder When my girlfriend chases me around with a frying pan, I just spend the night in a motel. I bring my guitar.

But people do lose cool..and when that happens, it can be dangerous. I think everybody, without exception has threshold limit for physical or mental pain, beyond which they go berserk.
