What did you have for breakfast today? The Horse reveals all!

Working at 8:30 AM an hour away means getting up early, brewing some coffee, and then throwing together some ridiculous breakfasts before heading off to work. Today, I ate half of a banana, took one large bite of a piece of pumpkin pie a friend had given me, ate some lox with no cream cheese or bagel (by hand--I felt like a grizzly bear catching raw salmon), and then gobbled up about ten blueberries I'd bought at Trader Joe's the day before. The morning was a great success! Have you had some weird breakfasts as well? What did you have today?

You've still got me drooling for lox, but I don't know where to buy it. I had the other 1/2 of that banana you ate, a toasted English muffin with apple jelly, a stick of string cheese, and a cup of coffee(milk). I always have to eat early, or low blood sugar sets in.

Sounds like a Horse-style breakfast. Where are the Jewish people (or Trader Joe's) where you live? That's here you'll find lox.

@TheHorse I'm not sure if there's a Trader Joe's in Saginaw, Michigan. Bay City has many Jewish people, so probably the meat markets would have lox. I'd like to try it! Last week I tried bear meat for the first time, it wasn't too bad:)

@kobesbuddy I don't think Jews are heavily into bear meat. Heh. But if there's a Jewish Deli around, they should have some fresh lox. I recommend it on a toasted bagel with cream cheese and RED onion.

That actually sounds pretty good. Did you put sugar on it? I don't have any regular sugar here. It would have to be maple syrup.

Today, I had a cheese sample, as well as a chip/salsa sample . . . and a little cup sample of coffee from Trader Joe's. I was out doing errands after I dropped the kids off to school . . . Trader Joe's was my first stop . . . I can always rely on them for a sample breakfast .

@CoralLevang And they never seem to run out of coffee samples! There is another chain I go to and most times there is not a drop left in their coffee dispenser!

Today I had a small packet of baby soup (by which I mean baby food that is in a boil-a-bag, because it has no gluten and I can't eat adult boil-a-bag stuff because it all has gluten in it)-- it contained bits of chicken, pumpkin (Kabocha), carrot, and potato. It was also expired in 2014 so I felt I should be eating it up. I also had a gluten-free brown rice bun with cream cheese and strawberry jam, and milk tea with ginger and cinnamon.

I made a Japanese cheesecake yesterday, because I wanted to try it. As I made a lot, this morning we had the cheesecake with a diced apple and a few strawberries as breakfast. Not too weird after all.

@TheHorse little meatballs which have parsley and parmesan cheese in them. Beef Broth, onion, garlic, carrot, tiny pasta, spinach. (we use barley instead of the pasta). Wedding refers to how the flavours "marry" together

@Courtlynn Heh. I just ate a leftover chip from my Mexican lunch a few days ago. My meals tend to be round or oblong, not square. But I try to get SOMETHING into my tummy, even if it's an old candy bar in my fridge that I'd forgotten about.

So you like lox. It tastes really good on a bagel with cream cheese. Sounds like you had a nice breakfast. I did not eat yet, but, when I do I will have cereal with milk, hot chocolate and some chocolate spread and some peanut butter. I eat with a spoon.
