Expensive cups - do you use them or just showcase them?

We got this expensive cups set as gifts during our wedding and they looked so good that we just put them in our showcase. Finally we decided that cups are meant to be used and I use it for my morning coffee. Have you ever been in a situation where an expensive cups or plate set is unused as it looks too good to use?

No, I used everything. But my mother was a collector of dining wears that she would buy and buy expensive stuff and not use all of them.

Both my mother and grandmother like to put these expensive cups, plates, and cutlery on display but these are used during important occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries.

That's good to know. What else do you keep in your showcase.

That's a balanced view. What special occasions do you think you will use them in?

Yes, I just put them in the showcase. They're just too fancy to be used even for guests.

I don't use it regularly as it will get spoilt easily or might break. On special occasions only I take it outside, as I don't want the cup to get spoiled very fast. I keep all expensive plates and cups in my showcase and take it out only when needed, If some guests visits or if there is a party in my house. Some plates and cups i have never taken out from my showcase. They are really very pretty, so I am scared if it will break as they are very fragile..

That's one scary thought. Just about every dinner set I have has a couple of broken pieces.
