Bye-Bye September

Gosh another month flew by but I do love October.
October usually brings cooler days and I enjoy those brisk temperatures. Perfect sleeping weather, the trees change color but sadly it gets darker sooner which makes the day seem so much shorter.
Also October 1st brings the birthday for my oldest daughter. As my first born she's always been special (not that all my kids aren't special).
As October rolls around my grandkids get excited for Halloween and I am always interested to see what costumes they pick. The past two years they've been coming to my house to trick or treat in my neighborhood since we have houses closer together than they have where they live. Makes for easy trick or treating and their bags fill up pretty quickly. Always a fun day for me too.
Along with the fun and positive things October brings it's also comes with a sadness as it's the month my mom passed away (last year). Even almost a whole year later I still expect to see her in her room when I pass by.
So as September ends are you looking forward to October?

I'm still wondering where August went...
Condolences on your loss... my mother passed in October, too (2000) a week before her 81st birthdate.

My mom was 94 and had a great life but I do miss her. I'm sure you miss your mom too

@Marilynda1225 Not really. It's cooler fall and winter and shorter days but basically sunshine the year round.

@m_audrey6788 I hate when rain keeps me from doing things I like. If I was in charge of the weather it would only rain at night when we're all asleep LOL

This year not much except for the fall colors so lovely. Hope your daughter has a very Happy Birthday tomorrow. This is the month when our loved one's spirits come to visit so I know your mom will be nearby.

I am looking forward to the cooler weather and I love the changing of the leaves. So I plan on taking a few hikes at the local State Park and maybe taking some pictures.

I was thinking about your Mom's passing a couple of days ago, and I thought that it was getting close to her first anniversary. She really did put up a good fight and tried her hardest didn't she?
October is my favorite month also. Here in Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving during October. And Thanksgiving is my most favorite month, we have so very much to be thankful for. And on October 3rd my beloved husband and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary. So many memories, and such a precious time of the year. I love the way that our anniversary is during the week before Thanksgiving.

@Marilynda1225 No, I cannot commit to the classes that I found. So the search continues, I told him about it, and he's happy, but he wants me to get my health under control before taking this on.
Your Mom must be looking down on you and smiling when she sees how engaged and close you and your family are. That's all a really good Mom wants for her kids right?

it was this time last year that we were going through all that craziness with the homehealth care people coming in three times a week for her rehabilitation. It's hard to believe a whole year has passed. You have a lot of great things coming up to look forward to. Did you get to sign up for the pottery class? That's the one regret I had my whole life was that I didn't pick a good husband. I always hoped to be married for a long time and enjoy celebrating milestone anniversaries.

October is not my favourite month because the clocks go back meaning the darker evenings and within a week or two it is dark going and coming home from work. I dislike it very much!

That's part of October and the rest of the months I dislike too. I hate when it gets dark early and at 4pm it feels like midnight. My daughter was just saying the same thing this morning that she hates having to go to work and home in the dark.

@Marilynda1225 It is horrible because you rarely see much of the day! I agree with your daughter. Now if you had said April I would have agreed with you when it is lighter in the mornings and the evenings. So once we hit December 21st I start to feel better as I know it is going to get lighter by a minute a day!

I am looking forward to it. I love watching the trick or treaters, giving out candy, watching halloween movies, colder says and hot chocolate.

I had a pretty good September - it is my birth month so I always try to make it special. I am also thankful that we were not affected by those hurricanes which came in September - the bad ones always seem to show up the day before or just after my birthday. Sorry about the passing of your mom. My sister passed in summer 2016 and the pain is still there.

Seems that 2016 wasn't a good year and @marty1 just commented that her mom passed away last year too. I'm sure you miss your sister very much and will probably carry that pain for awhile. Even though we have great memories it's sad that our loved ones aren't around to spend time with.

I love the brisk air of the season. The changing colors of the leaves (if the don't just go quickly to brown and fall of the trees this year) bring me joy.
My first born will be celebrating her 39th birthday on the 8th of this month. She is feeling her age lately. I hope to bring her out to dinner to celebrate and help take the pinch out of nearing a milestone birthday.

It's pumpkin time of year! I love Halloween. I'm getting the decorations down next week. I get to make halloween cupcakes and biscuits and watch horror films (don't normally watch those). I'm a big kid for halloween.
