Monty Hall who co-created with Stefan Hatos and hosted the original game show "Let's Make A Deal" from 1963-1986 and host an updated version in 1991 passed away on Saturday at the age of 96. Hall's daughter Joanna Gleason reported the news of the passing of her father who was one of the nicest people in show business you will ever meet. Hall was born Monte Halparin in Winnipeg Manitoba in 1921. Hall hosted a game show that was unique since the contestants wore costumes to get his attention so he could pick them to win prizes by having to play a game of risk of giving up some items they won during the game so they could go after a larger prize that was hidden behind a curtain. The entertainment world a true giant among men when Monty passed away on Saturday at the age of 96.

Wow! I had no idea! SMH! Thank you for posting this. I do appreciate it. Does it seem like we are losing an inordinate number of celebrities lately or is it just me that feels that way? (You know, well known singers, songwriters and big names from theater and stage...? I guess we still have a ways to go before we match the 80 something deaths that happened in 2016, though.) SMH!

It is a shame that many celebrities that we have seen in the recording and movie industry are dying out this year.

I remember that show from when I was growing up. I always enjoyed it because of the costumes. I haven't seen it very much since leaving home though, and only saw it a few times recently.

Monty was one of the smartest people that I know of expressing on interviews why he was able to be a happy married man for about 60 years.

That is so sad, I loved watching Let's Make a Deal while growing up and had dreamed of being on his show carrying a huge bag with various items; remember how he would ask for something from paper clips to shampoo and other items and if someone had it, they would win something?
