Inappropriate Attire

It really surprises me how people can be ignorant of the things to wear at formal functions. I have seen many people who attend high class events in clothes which do not fit the occasion. There's a time to be casual and a time to be formal. Feigning ignorance does reflect badly on these individuals.

Especially when events are work-related, it gives a bad impression to underdress.

I agree, i see some inappropriate dressing here as well. But again we cannot do anything about it.

I fully agree with you. It's a lack of respect to wear casual clothing on important functions.

It is sad if it is a formal occasion that there are those that will not wear the right clothes.

Totally agree but I also think when you over dress for a casual get together it is more for show. I like comfort and casual which is why I don't go to formal things if I don't have too. I feel really uncomfortable in formal wear.

if it's a business trip and you're representing the company, you should dress appropriately. or if you have a uniform with the company logo, you can wear to for easy/fast recall.

Perhaps they are just being themselves. But I do like to dress for the occasion,
