The mighty hunter!

We were sitting in the front room talking, enjoying the nice day with the front door open.
Then we heard a scratching sound.
I turned and looked at the door.
Opal, who turned 12 weeks today, had fished a very dangerous dead leaf under the screen door and was subduing it.
Once she wrestled it into submission, she carried it further into the room to make sure it was going to stay dead.
She likes to make sure that her toys are where she wants to play with them at. If they get knocked some place she doesn't want them, she'll pick them up and carry them back where she does want them.
I wonder if we'll be lucky enough to get her to play fetch - I've never had a cat play fetch before.

I agree, most of the time. It's so cute when she's in the kitchen and Heidi or Daisy are running back and forth. She chases them, not that they care if she is, they are running for themselves.
What is really funny is when she runs into another cat who isn't part of the game.

@m_audrey6788 she's actually not having a lot of luck getting any cat, besides Heidi, to play with her, but even Heidi is only running back and forth, and she does that anyway (and climbs the screen doors.) She turned and chewed on Tony's ear for a bit before he finally had enough and pinned her down with his paw. Even after he took the paw away, she stayed down, she knew she had over stepped the line.

Hm. I never got my cat to play fetch, but then maybe you can get yours to play that game. Cats seem to like to make their rules. They are not at all like dogs who really do like to play fetch.

@ElicBxn , They are creatures of habit and often become attached to their toys as do dogs. They have this trait in common with each other.

@nanette64 Unless I roll something, she isn't following, even then she's only doing it sometimes. Right now she's focused on us, maybe because she was sick last week and not back to 100%.

None of my cats ever played fetch, but Harmony would start up a game of soccer with wadded up kleenex she'd snag out of the waste paper can.

she's cute. I love to watch cats pick up toys and carry them places. At least it was a leaf and not a mouse. Lily had brought in a live mouse once. My mother took it back outside. She hasn't brought anything else in the house lately.
