How can one make friends easily

Most times we get to see people we like and they're total strangers to us.But you like the person's personalities and will really want to associate with the person.How can one subtly get close to such a person without showing desperation?
I know they 're people that feel like being friends with people but liver fails them and they don't know how to go about.Do you know ways this can be achieved without looking out of place?

I don't really seek for friendship with anybody unless that person and i have something in common.

@TangoMik But at least I get to find a genuine one. I don't count the number of friends I have. I only have a few but they are those that are real and true.

You just have to maintain your dignity as a person. Once you have good character and manner, it will only take time but certainly you will become friends with people you admmire

@augusta123 then I think you just need to befriend him/her...like always say hi when you meet, give help whenever its needed. with time you will find yourself closer
