An editorial reply to Coral's thoughts about cereal posters

My friend @CoralLevang wrote that she doesn't trust cereal posters. She said that a lot of them are newbies, and that some are too preachy. I disagree. I love cereal postings because I love cereal. I'm going to defy Coral by writing about the cereal I have at home now, Trader Joe's Organic Corn Flakes. Trader Joe's Organic Corn Flakes taste a lot like the Kellogg's Corn Flakes of my childhood. One of the things I hated about Cap'n Crunch was how quickly it got soggy in milk. Do you remember that? Trader Joe's Organic Corn Flakes stay crunchy in milk for a pretty long time, and they taste rich and full. Because they're not sugar-coated, I put a touch of brown sugar or maple syrup on top, and the result is delicious. Now, I'd like to write about Trader Joe's Honey Nut O's, another cereal I often keep in my house. They...what's that? She was talking about... Oh. Never mind. From when Saturday Night Live was funny: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZLeaSWY37I
I believe in freedom of speech and I want to support the newbies to the site and in what's important to them. However, when I see 10 discussions posted and all...

I never really enjoyed cereal even when I lived in New York For awhile I did enjoy two cereals Raisin Bran and Cheerios. Here in Latvia people are not used to eating cereal but kids are getting into it and they have some of the U.S. brands but a box is so expensive I would never buy any here.

@RasmaSandra @TheHorse It's the same in Germany. The older generation doesn't eat cereals, the young ones do.

Interesting. By the way, I was never a fan of raisin bran, though I'd eat it if starving (meaning nothing else was available).

I don't like cereal the way you do if at all. It's boring! Bland. So, I "skip" it.

They don't know how to eat...sigh. Aloo paratha or idly or poori saag are the way to begin the day..sigh...but thank god for the Americans. If they would eat what we eat, our food and ingredients would become so expensive..LOL

Haha I love Weetabix, it's very popular here in the UK but I don't know about other countries. I also eat Porridge, it reminds me of being little when I was safe and warm living at home with my parents ..oh oh 'cereal' posters ..

Yes, eating oatmeal has the same "safe at home with parents" feel for me.

I used to be able to get a variety of mini Weetabix that had hazelnuts and raisins, but I can't find it here in the US anymore. Do they still have it in the UK?

I also do not mind cereal posters. At the moment I have Cheerio`s and its because I got them free and one dollar to boot for buying them with coupons. The serial posting that gets me is the " I will write 10 now and flood the feed" so I read one and scroll and scroll and scroll past all the other posts. Its been a while since I watched SNL.

@CoralLevang But will they get enough protein? Wait! I can do "fishy" posts. Total lies that some might not catch. Fish have protein.

@ Ihave no idea what gruel is but I think it may be a thin kind of porridge. Porridge is oats cooked with water or milk. I make it with both and add a little sugar. In my childhood days you always had the cream of the milk with a bit of sugar on top.

@LadyDuck @TheHorse I've noticed that granola and muesli are very similar, although granola is mixed with oil and honey (or some other sweetener) and toasted in the oven, while muesli is merely combined and untoasted.

I am cereal poster at times and definitely to preacher, but me be like a Trump supporter I listen to no one. Trader Joes is to expensive for us poor folk, nice to know food like cereal is healthier and the people who probably need it most cannot even afford it. Way to go America. See preachy.
