Howdy all! How is your Tuesday going? I received what I knew I would in the mail yesterday - a rejection letter from a job I interviewed for a couple of weeks ago. I kind of knew it was coming based on having little to no job experience in some of the duties this job required. All in all I am happy I got the opportunity to interview at least; its good to keep in practice with this. Trying to see the silver lining, can you tell?! On the other hand my current job has had some overtime opportunities which is good for my bank at least. I did apply for a job in a human services type position which seems interesting but I probably will not get a call back. Who knows though.
How is everyone elses Tuesday? Anyone else dealing with rejection? Ha!

No rejection today but yesterday my husband experienced rejection in a sense. I'm sorry you didn't get the job.

Have you thought about maybe taking a class to get what you may need to change jobs? I took a noncredit bookkeeping course at one point and my career took off after that.

I am looking for a full time job now but it stated a lot of duties which I doubt I coud perform well. Furthermore, the job said no foreigner. Do you think I should apply for it? I had not been working for 12 years already. As for rejection, I had not receive any in the past because in 1980s, the employers reject on the spot, not through mail.l

@maezee yes, some companies in singapore are not accepting foreigners as employees. Maybe they are trying to avoid to process the employment pass which are hassle. Furthermore, the salary is lower than the citizen of singapore. I have read the requirement at jobstreet. Out of 10, 7 of them stated NO FOREIGNERS. Yeah, you can say that is discriminating.

Perhaps another chance might come up or you might be able to go on a course of some kind to do with the Job you are looking for.
Good luck.
Tuesday was not a good day really but that does not matter.

i was just chatting with someone about her job history. when she was applying for her first job after learning how to cut hair, she was the one who was hired out of 10 applicants, even though she was the one with no experience yet. so who knows?

Yes, just keep trying. Practice makes perfect as the saying goes.
Indeed, the experience is usually what is being asked about for a job application.
