Today, I walked out on my order at Chick Fil A.

I went to go get my flu shot at CVS. Across the parking lot was a Chick Fil A and I had a free medium french fry on my account (after accumulating points) so I decided to redeem it since the perk was expiring in a couple days. I placed my order on my phone and walked to Chick Fil A. I waited under the Pick Up sign. No one came, so I went to ask the cashier and was told my order is coming. 10 minutes later, I flagged down the manager and was told my order is coming. I told him it's been 10 minutes and that's a ridiculous wait for "fries". Then, he told me the machine is broken so they're down to just one and it'll be a few MORE minutes. No way am I waiting any longer for fries that I am not really fond of. I already had lunch, but was going bring them home for my dad as a snack. Free or not (which I earned by spending money there), I walked out. They should have told me the wait will be longer when I asked originally.

Oh dear they should let you get some more some other time Michele and not take that perk away from you.

I did end up losing my points, but all well. Not worth my time waiting so long!

@TiarasOceanView Not at all. It was a waste of time. The employee didn't tell me anything about the wait would be any longer when I originally waited which upset me. Had they told me, I would have left a long time ago!

At th bank the computers were down to one, I was in line and one of the employees told us it will be a little bit, so I walked out and went to the new one down the street, I am glad he told me.

I wouldn't mind if they told me when I originally asked about my order. At the bank, I had the same issue. They had some problems, but I was only 2nd in line, so I ended up waiting. Had I been further in line, I would have went to the bank at a different location or later.

Exactly. Even if one machine is broken, they should be cranking fries out because that's what many buy and it's the only option there. They didn't mention to me when I asked regarding my order. And they just kept stalling telling me it'll be out shortly. I did not get my fries after all and just walked out.

Ugh. I hate it when they are not upfront with their answers - not cool to give you the run around - a few more minutes could have meant 30 minutes . We ate at Chick Fil A only once. A friend of ours from a different state grew up on their sandwiches and she always told us they were the best. We tried it - and it wasn't spectacular - so we haven't gone back since.

@infatuatedbby Chick Fil A is still relatively new in our area - not sure if it's caught on. But they are building another one! Bad customer service is such a turn off!!

I do eat Chick Fil A once in a while. It's the most common fast food I'd go to... but sure do not like their service!

I would have appreciated the honesty when I originally asked how come my order wasn't ready. I ordered in advance on mobile so I would not have to wait (even longer). Ridiculous even if the machine is broken and they're down to one. They only offer fries so its not like they're making onion rings, curly fries and french fries.

I also hate it, like they are going to tell us it will take 10 minutes for our order to come, then we waited for almost 20 minutes. That is not a good customer service though.

@JustBhem I would rather prefer a longer wait and have it come out sooner, but they don't want to say that or else some might walk out. But I rather take honesty then to be annoyed/upset afterwards.

I rather have them tell me a longer wait and have arrival be sooner than shorter and takes longer.

@infatuatedbby Yeah, that is why if ever we ordered some food in a fast food, I always ask how long are we going to wait. It would be a lot better if they tell us how long other then tell us to wait like this when it takes longer.

Never been to a Chick Fil A , we do not have them around here, and they have a bad reputation. It was very rude to expect you to wait so long. Fast food restaurants tewnd to be careless about their customers.

Fast food chains here would normally ask us if we're willing to wait if it takes longer than the usual waiting time.

It will not take muscles to inform you that their machine is crappy.,

Exactly! I guess they didn't want to waste their breath letting me know the machine was broken and further explain, instead told me it's coming soon!

Yes, I did but all well. I was not going to stand any longer. French fries are a popular thing there so I don't get why they didn't have any regardless if the machine is down, they should have been cranking it! Or at least, let me know when I asked them the first time.

You should contact Chik-fil-A's corporate office and tell them about your experience. I'm willing to bet they will take good care of you. Or, post a negative comment about it on social media and tag them, and see if you get a response. It wouldn't hurt to try, you may end up getting a free meal out of it! I've never had a bad experience at Chik-fil-A, and they are usually pretty expedient with their orders. Sorry you had a negative experience there!

Yep, I was already annoyed since I ordered in advance through the mobile app. Had they told me when I asked originally, I'd walk out! Not wait around for 10 minutes and then tell me its going be some more longer!

It is hardly fair that you lost your free fries because they were having problems.

Not a good timing for me to redeem them, but I am not often in the area so I figured I'd get it anyway! Turned out to be a waste of time!

I don't like waiting either, but things like that happens. It may or really been a real problem even though that really doesn't make things better.

It happens, but I would have appreciated if they were honest when I asked the first time how come my order isn't ready. Pick up ahead on mobile should be done when I arrive since I ordered in advance. I waited a couple minutes then went in line and asked about my order. They just said its coming.

5 Oct 17
Yeah, they should have given you a heads up that it will be longer than expected. Is this your first time experincing this?

We had to wait for a while yesterday for just a vanilla cone from Hungry Jack. I kept asking, and they kept telling me, 'your turn will come...' In the end, the girl who was in charge of the customers, seeing us wait for too long - ended up telling her staff off. It was satisfying watching the whole thing .

Yes at least they should have explained to you the minute you ordered that it would take long. Sorry to say but am also one of the people who are not that patient enough i would have left just like you did.
