I'm going to prison now

This will be my longest day in the detention centre ever as we're training to do the Alpha Course this morning and then we have bible study this afternoon. It's not quite the same as being in a jail because the residents do have access to their rooms and nobody likes those doors just the outside Gates and the doors into the centre, with no access to my phone or anything else except my Bible. It may seem a strange thing to say but I'm actually looking forward to going to prison! You ever been behind bars so to speak?

No, I have never been behind bars. Not having freedom must be the worst of things.

It is one of the worst things and those who have been there can relate.

@aureliah yes I'm pretty sure I would hate to be an inmate.

I cannot imagine anything worse I've been following the reports on Abby Lee Miller and whatever kind of an idiot she is I think that it shows how horrible prison really is

No thankfully I have never been arrested although I was once interrogated in a very nasty way for something I had no part of

@aureliah Why would they? I am a visitor, not a prisoner and this particular place actually gets good reviews from the detainees

I'm taking the love of Jesus there so for me this is a little different because of course I am not an inmate.

I'm not too bothered about the length of time I'm there because I know that it will be helping.

Haha yes, I was in prison on a field trip in elementary school and once to get my fingerprints taken to become a foster-to-adopt parent.

I was almost put behind bars. It was just misunderstanding between the police officer and me during that time.

@Jackalyn It was so scary. But then, you might feel the thrill at the same time.lol I remembered my manager scolded me that time. For me, it is a good experience.

@Shavkat I do notfind it particularly scary. This is probably because I am not staff and as a pastor you tend to get people kind of trusting anyway

I had tried doing jail ministry when I was younger and very active in church, there is no way to describe a crowded Philippine prison not unless you have been to one.

I think they are worse in the Phillipines than here. I can imagine as I watched a documentary.

It did go well. I think I will also be going to a proper jail to do the same kind of ministry in the near future as well. I have been asked.

No never. I wouldn't mind going for a tour though, see how things work inside the prison.

I took someone to a big prison but they would not let me in as well as the person I took. The detention centre still demands a high level of security, but it is not as bad because I am known there.

@Jackalyn .......That's good. I guess you have to be on the visitor's list in most cases.

@celticeagle In all cases. You cannot just turn up and they fingerprint and photo you as well and want a host of id.
