Fall Memories

Personally, I Love October. I have actually always enjoyed October and Fall. Have many great memories from when I was growing up and remembering some of them make me wish I could do some of them again.
Back many yrs ago, I used to Love October for Halloween and Trick Or Treating. Now I choose not to celebrate it, but do hand out Candy if someone decides to stop at our door. But one of the Best memories from October was raking up the Big pile of leaves and then jumping in them. Another one was going for a Hay ride.
Actually wish there was a way I could go on a Hay ride again. This was some awesome memories. Getting on a wagon with a lot of hay on it with other people just sitting there talking and having fun being pulled around town or where ever. Then coming back and having Hot apple cider and cake, pie or cookies. What fun times this was. Wonder if people even give Hay rides just for Fun anymore?

I don't do Halloween either, but I do love the fall season. When I was a kid, we always went to the Halloween party at school. More than that, my best memories are walks along the river when the leaves turned colors. October sky is a mesmerizing shade of blue that's like no other time and the golden and orange leaves make it look almost unreal. We'd kick the fallen leaves as we walked and listen to the river singing on its way. Such good times. I never went on a hayride until I was grown and that was at Christmas time when we used a hay wagon to carry us around to go caroling.

I did the Caroling thing from a hay wagon a couple of times, and it was great Fun. Really makes me wish someone around here could do it just to bring back those Fun times.

There are several pumpkin farms and corn mazes in our area. We like to take the kids and they get to play on all of the games/rides, pet animals and then we go on the hayrides and get to pick a pumpkin at the end of the ride. Everything is eye-opening with little kids tagging along.

Yes. Many places still do hayrides. Most pumpkin patches and apple picking places..

Unfortunately there are no places like this close to us. I am sure if I was in Eastern WA I might be able to find some as WA is known for it's apples.

Well, it is Spring here, but I am happy you are enjoying Fall :) . Those are lovely memories. I have never been on a Hay ride and Halloween isn't really a South African holiday. I love baking in Fall with the cooler temps and I like making Apple pies so I love the aroma of cinnamon cooking...I love the cooler temps and the baking aromas of Fall. :)

It is really good to reminisce happy memories from childhood days! I can remember some of it, and the best thing
was when we were playing outside in the yard with my cousins or best friends.

We raked all our leaves into big piles that we would jumped in, as kids. Then, Mom would build a bon fire and we'd all help her burn the leaves, by pitching handfuls into the flames.
