Favorite Band Names #9 - Children on Stun

This is a theme I should have done long ago, but it's also the biggest cutdown in the history of my music series'. I'm talking about my favorite band names, and we are at #9: Children on Stun. Formed in 1991 in England, Children on Stun is a goth group led by vocalist Neil Ash. They were one of many 2nd generation goth bands on Cleopatra Records at that time. They took their name from The March Violets' song, "Children on Stun." When a band names themselves after one of your songs in tribute, you know you've done something right, and The March Violets certainly did so with that song. Children on Stun deserve kudos for resisting the all to common urge to sound like The Sisters of Mercy, which is a trap many a goth band has fallen into. Ash, in fact, sounds nothing at all like Sisters vocalist Andrew Eldritch. Which is a refreshing change of pace. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Definitely not Sisters of Mercy. I listened to "Style Police," too.
