My Nordend waist bag

Nordend is the brand of my waist bag, which I hadn't washed until finally my wife offered to wash it.She said the water to wash the bag with turned into nearly black due to the long accumulated dirt stuck to the bag. It didn't look dirty at all it smelled bad when I tried to sniff it.
How often do you have your waist bag washed?

I don't wear one but that reminds me of some of the other things I need to throw in the washing machine.
