Hello fellow mylotters. Things have been hectic here. After I struggled with my sinus problems and then got to feeling some better I began not feeling right again. By not right, I mean I was tired all the time, I would have frequent headaches and even some times feel like I was going to pass out. Since I have to watch my blood sugar I knew I better check my blood sugar. So, I checked my blood sugar and it was over 200. If you know anything about blood sugar or diabetes, over 200 is NOT good!! So, I decided I need to make some major health changes. I'm on a diet !! I'm eating meats, vegetables mainly and am eliminating white flour and sugars. I'm also becoming active. I've started using my Vitamaster every day. I started out the first week with doing 10 minutes at a time. Trying to do 30 minutes of exercise a day. Well, the first week results were that I lost 10#!!!! Tomorrow is my weight check in and I'm hoping that I'm still losing weight , even if just a couple of pounds! Wish me luck!! Have you ever been on a diet? What was it? Do you have any pointers for me? ~Peace~

Most of my life I was on a diet and could take the weight off but never kept it off. I came to Israel and found overeaters anonymous. It is not a diet club but teaches you how to eat right or know what you have to give up. I know there are things I have to give up, but, just not ready yet. I found this summer that all I really wanted to do was drink and not eat much and I lost weight, but, I know I need to cut down on the certain foods and then exercise too. I am still figuring it out. It sounds like you are on the right track.

I've never been on a diet so I don't really have an advice to give. But congrats on your progress so far, you really do deserve a pat on the back.

Good for you! Stay active and don't give up if you "plateau".

I used to collect diet books. Tried each and every one of them too. I found out that they don't work. Diets don't work. What I have found that works for me is to figure out the bad things I have in my diet and slowly take them out. I commit to one and then to another. I did this year before last and from the time I had one annual check up to the next I had lost twenty pounds.I think losing weight over time is best too. Going on crash diets and losing a lot of weight in a few months usually ends up in a big pig out that isn't pretty and ends in all the weight plus some put back on. Good luck in your endeavors and hope you reach your goal.

You do not need pointers from me for a diet, I can`t even keep 10 pounds off! Yes eat many, many veggies to keep blood sugar down, I have been diabetic for 10 years and mine is pretty much under control, unless I eat pie

Sounds like what you're doing is working so I don't know if you need to change anything.
