~Update On Johnny~

My husband called with an update. He has a torn muscle around the heart. People who do heavy lifting can have this happen...aka construction work that he does. The pain causes confusion with people thinking they are having a heart attack. Since hes had one before of course he thought that! The treatment is the same as any pulled muscle-less physical activity, anti-inflammatories and ice. We're just grateful it was not another heart attack! Thank y'all for praying.

I'm so glad he's going to be okay. You know, it seemed inappropriate at the time because your last discussion was about your husband possibly having another heart attack, but since he's okay I'll just say: he's a looker!

@marlina Thank you, me too. I'm not sure what the doctor told him. I'm sure it's on the paperwork, I need to read those since he failed to mention that to me.

Oh wow, poor guy!! But great news that it wasn't another heart attack! I get chest wall pain all the time (due to costochondritis -- inflamed ribs, particularly in my sternum) and it definitely can be mistaken for a heart attack. I think any chest pain (especially if it radiates into your shoulder, arm or neck) automatically makes you think it may be a heart attack. I'm glad he got checked and that it wasn't one. I hope his pulled muscle heals quickly and his pain goes away.

@Srbageldog Yes that's why he thought it more because it was radiating into other areas-which can also happen with the muscle pull. =( We are so grateful it wasn't another heart attack though. Thank you!

@Srbageldog Yeah, I never knew that! Well, he's supposed to be off but he's not doing it because he has to support his family. =( He did hire a helper for the heavy lifting though.

@LovingMyBabies Apparently there are multiple conditions that cause chest pain that radiates to other areas -- who knew? I can imagine you guys are relieved! Will he have to be off work to allow himself to heal? Or will he just have to work through the pain and hope he doesn't make it worse?

Now that would be scary @LovingMyBabies . I wonder if that's been my problem after unloading 70-lb bales of hay, 50-lb bags of feed and carrying 44-lbs of cat food at a time. I'm glad he's gonna be okay.

I know he likes construction work and is very good at it but he needs something that is kinder to his body. I am glad it was not another heart attack.

@Gardengerty Yeah, he never finished school though so there isn't a whole lot he can do with a lack of education. He doesn't have the time or money to go back to school and he wouldn't do very well with spelling/writing anyway.
