Getting It Right

I got notice from CreateSpace that both Scarred and Freedom's Cry were ready to proof. I ordered a proof copy and also looked at the digital proof, then set up a call from CreateSpace to find out what the problem is with the manuscript.
After working for at least an hour, I finally got the numbers correct. The size must be 6x9, it kept coming back as 8.5x11 no matter what I was doing. I pulled up a copy of another manuscript to look at the margin numbers, wrote them all down, then started again to correct everything, and finally I got it right.
I've been through the proof copy twice now, downloading two different copies, and it's just finished the last copy I submitted. This one should be good. And it is. I just finished the last check on it. So Scarred should be ready in 24 hours for the last check, and then I can make it live and it will be available. Kindle will also be available at the same time.
I've also downloaded the Freedom's Cry proof, and will go through that one for one last check. That one should be good, but I want to make certain.
I don't need to do a last edit check on Scarred because this is the third edition, and there aren't any changes to the second edition. I just needed to re-publish it after firing my editors so I would have complete control over the book.
I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my writing. Is there something you're a perfectionist about? Thanks for reading.

No, I am not really a perfectionist about anything. Although sometimes if I get into a cleaning mode..I will remove every spot..until something is pristine..but that sort of mood doesn;t strike very often..

I can relate, me either, though this week I've been in that kind of cleaning mode.

You should see my hair when I get up from this computer and look in the bathroom mirror. I'm glad I got it figured out. I was at my wits end trying to get it right. I think I now have three manuscripts for Scarred and I'll need to trim that down to just one, plus the PDF. I'm so glad I'm not dealing with typewriters anymore and snail mail.
I can tell by how beautiful you always look, that your appearance is important to you. Your home is also gorgeous, what pictures you've posted about it. I would expect your cars would be as well.

My mother used to can. I would help, but she never taught me, so I never did it myself. What do you can?

I can imagine that you would need to be a perfectionist when it comes to writing a book. You need to choose words that will draw the reader into the storyline and hold them until the end.
I am a perfectionist when it comes to my crochet or knitting. If I find a flaw, I rip it out even if it is several rows that needs to be redone.

If I could knit or crochet, I've tried, I would be the same way. There are some writers who think they can do things their own way when it comes to writing. It doesn't work that way. If it's not my best, believe me it's not going to get published.

Well done! We are made in the image of God and He does everything perfect and so when we do something, especially something creative, we want it just perfect.
