Making Art Better or Worse

I love making art. It's one my favorite things in the world, but I know I am not so good at it and that I am good at it at the same time. We can all make art if we wanted to because we all have our own unique styles that people may like or dislike since our souls are all different. I would never stop building art even if it wasn't considered the best by society. But I like to do it for fun and no one will create the same art as you no matter how hard we try. There's something about us, any tiny thing that makes it unique.

True. We all can do art and construct beautiful things if we wish and put our focus into it.

Wise words indeed. I definitely need to start making art again. It's like I have art block or something.

I enjoy making art too. It makes me happy to create something I can be proud of. But many times I see the caliber of talent out there and feel quite inadequate. Until I remind myself the same thing you just said. We are all unique in our own ways and everyone has different taste. So it's alright to not be able to paint life-like paintings....as long as the message we were trying to convey gets across to our viewers.

Yes! You are right, Manisha! That is exactly right. I get so down when I feel like I can't be "good" like other people just because I can't do life-like imagery. It's just that I have a different style of art.

I once wrote a course called "Adults can Play Too." The reason most of us stop creating is we stopped enjoying the material and started worrying about the finished object. I think I see where you are coming from.

That is a really good thing that I have never thought of. I do have my times where I worry about the finished item of a project. We don't think of that when we're young, we just do it and now it's like "is it come gonna come out tight? Should I continue?"

I'd love to know what kind of art you are good at, painting, sculpting or anything else.

I have no smarts for sculpturing (and it's been a while since I sat down and Drew something), but I will draw or paint or use pastels or charcoal or even digital art on the computer. I am more for cartoony art, then the realistic art of things. I am making a book with cartoon characters at the moment. =)

Wow, that's amazing!!! They must be so beautiful! I don't think I could ever craft with my hands, but then again, I never practiced doing that.

Yeah, I get what you are saying. Keep doing what you do. I do art because I want to and it's fun, and if it turns out great, then awesome. If it doesn't, then I had fun.

Yeah and technically nothing of it is "good" or "bad" because it is all based on our personal opinions about the arts. Imagine how professions in anything in general create wonderful projects in anything, and there is always going to be someone that doesn't like it, no matter how popular it is. That's something I've noticed sitting back and listening to the world.
