Asian people usually have heavy breakfast before head to work or school. It is a habitual food consumption to take rice or noodles for breakfast in order to fill up hunger pangs that could last for hours. Americans have toast bread or sandwiches which are light and easy. Most working people work from 9am to 6pm. Lunch hour is either at 12pm or 1pm, last for an hour. So, breakfast such as Nasi lemak ( Coconut Milk Rice as picture shown ) is one of the favorite and staple food among the Malaysian people. Every morning after the school bus picks up my son to school, my hubby and I would have breakfast at the nearby Mamak ( Indian ) shop for breakfast. Our usual are Nasi lemak, roti prata ( Indian pancake ) and milk tea. A packet of nasi lemak cost USD 40 cents ( RM 1.80), filled with half boiled egg, spicy paste, toasted peanuts and anchovies. Really filling and yummy! SO what do you have for breakfast, Rice or Bread? myphoto: Nasi Lemak

We have rice for lunch and dinner.. that's a must. It's our staple food. For breakfast we have idly, dosa, or sometimes the leftover rice from night

Usually it's only bread with sandwich fillings, scrambled egg , hotdogs or sardines and coffee for me, since it's the fastest way to prepare breakfast. So, at the office, I buy an early lunch at 10;00 a.m. (viands only since I pack rice with me as I cook it in a rice cooker every morning) Lunchbreak will be watching a TV series, I can't watch since it's in the afternoon then napping for 15 minutes.

I am not a breakfast eater. However, most Filipinos prefer to have fried rice in the morning.

You are wrong about Americans, they have a big breakfast with bread but also fried eggs and bacon and cereals. Europeans have a light breakfast usually only toasted bread (or a croissant) and a coffee.

@peachpurple Yes, in fact luxury Hotels in Europe offers two kind of breakfast the one called "Continental Breakfast" and the "American Breakfast". The second one is always a lot more expensive because there are eggs, bacon or ham or sausages, potatoes and other stuff. The Continental is a normal European breakfast, toasted bread, rolls, croissants butter and jam.

I always have chai, and sometimes rice and sometimes home-made pancakes with yogurt. It depends on if it is hot or cold. In the winter I like rice with stew or something warm. That photo looks like something I would love to have any time in the day.
