This past week or so has been pretty fun. I was able to get numerous. like 300+ pictures of deer, another 300+ pictures of Kevin the Turkey (see previous post) and a few videos of them and some other wildlife. Like wood ducks, squirrels, I saw my first Bald eagle. got a few pictures of it soaring in the sky above me. that was very exciting! Now if only I can turn this into a paying gig. that would be awesome! at one point while watching a herd of deer and photographing them on Friday.. I noticed a new group of four coming out of the woods to my left. They saw me and were very curious... too curious.. one of them took the lead and really started advancing on me fast. I was getting a bit nervous -- having seen deer attacking people videos.. - and then a miracle happened.. my camera battery died. LOL.. I jumped up and went back to my car for another and so I didn't have to find out how that would have ended! when I cam back they were going into the other field with the rest of the deer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IU9d_bSjyc
I was filming a group of 6-7 deer for a while when this herd of 4 comes out of the woods to my left. very close.. the see me and instead of being afraid.. th...

@ridingbet they are pretty far away.. so I was using my zoom and sometimes they aren't very clear.. your hand is shaky ( i should use a tripod) and the deer are walking around. plus there is the bright setting sun. that sometimes makes it hard to see.

@minx267 really? was the deer mobile that you had a difficult time taking a pose of the deer?

It's about two weeks that I see deer in the clearing in front of our garden. I should go there and take some photos.

@minx267 I should go out early in the morning when nobody is around, so they are not scared.

What a great video! I got a really good look at the deer. Their tails are longer than I thought.

@JudyEv yes, they are.. and their tail going up is like a little flag. they raise it when they are startled and running away!

@minx267 The photos I've seen have mostly had their tails up. They're called whitetail deer aren't they?

We have been led to believe in the stereotype Disney "Bambi" but like most wild animals they are also territorial and using a zoom lens would make sure we don't infringed on their domain. love the photo and also curious how far where you from the deer.

I have an awesome zoom lens (83x zoom).. so I was sitting on a hill pretty far from the first herd I was looking at.. I am a bad judge of distance.. but like few hundred yards I guess these deer (in the video) arrived to my left and were only like about 125-175 feet away.. so they were much closer.
