I refused many times to have a picture-taking with my male student. He is a candidate for graduation in March 2018. I do not like to have a picture taking with him for what purpose,or for what reason? I cannot find answer from my mind. My reason is absolute. It would create intrigue or malicious thinking from his classmates. He is a tall guy, macho and chinito. If I am only younger perhaps I will be lucky. I understand his intention. He said age does not matter,. I said, it matters. In the classroom, his clasmates are always silent, I know, they know. I am so thankful our class ended last Friday and my torments ended , too. In the afternoon of Friday , my student, Jack Garganian sent me his painting with a shocking title A Poison Tree.. I just ignored for he is so yong, 24. He might idolize me.I told him time comes that he will forget his desire for me, goodbye! Tomorrow he will take the exam, I am so thankful there is another proctor. Love is a mystery. Thanks for reading my friends.Take care all. Image shared here, the painting of my student.

be extra-careful, you might be smitten or hypnotized. maybe he has given you a love potion. wahahaha! just kidding. in any way, i know you are professional enough to not 'fall' for your students.

@ridingbet, though there are some teachers doing some illegal activities to a student, but they were advised to resign. My mind is so clear not to get involve with corrupting a minor

@just4him, that is true, I just avoided myself to insult him for it was not right. He might be ashamed of what he was desiring for. I told him, never worry, you are far to get a failing mark, just act normally .

I don't think it's unusual for a student to have a 'crush' on their teacher, and they usually grow out of it. I can see why you were uncomfirtable.

You were very wise not to have had your photo taken with him and thus encouraging him. It's very common for college students to develop crushes on their professors. I did, and my husband had to beat the girls off him in his younger days. lol

@DianneN , really? I remember when I was a college student, I had a crush on my English professor. He was so smart, handsome, bright, and so elegant looking guy, but sad, I learned late he was a gay so frustrating crush that crashed me down.

That's not a good situation. Wasn't there a parallel course he could have been transferred to? Did you confide in a colleague or even the headmaster?

It's good the semester is almost over; and when he is no longer your student, who knows he might get back to you and then by that time, you can tell that he really loves you! Then give him (or yourself) a chance.

I don't get the meaning of that Poison Tree, it should be a Love Tree. its so happen the feeling is not mutual. I think the barrier is not the age but its the feeling you felt for him, you consider him only as student and not really a man to be your boyfriend.

@prashu228, I believed what I said to him hit him and never would disturb me again.Every time I arrived and left school, I investigate the roadway first if he is standing. He cannot see me inside my car for it is a one- way mirror. The guy also has an elegant car.I saw him one time when I was in the canteen, he drove his car and he was alone.

Myself I'm not sure what to say. I've known students that I've had classes with that had a crush on the teacher. The teacher usually just laughed and said they were flattered about it then told the student why it wouldn't work. The didn't however say it in a way that would cause them to lose their confidence or anything. Because the teacher didn't want the student to be afraid of asking others to be with them.

BigTalpha, Actually, ever since I got many suitor students and I just laughed at them. Some of them sent me roses and fruits any time in a day. Others visited home, but I told them in a nice and polite way. There was one guy who transferred to other school just to forget me.
