Late last night we got a phone call. My husbands brother has blood cancer. My sister in law called crying. A couple of weeks ago we were told he has 6 months as there is nothing else they can do for him.
Things have changed. They are now giving him 5 to 10 days. So in a hour or so my husband and I are leaving for Michigan to go see him. Needless to say we are all very upset. So far he is still aware of his surroundings but they don't expect that to last very long. We need to get there before this happens.
I don't think my husband slept very well and neither did I. My husband and I need to keep each other awake on the 6 hour drive. I'm driving because my husband doesn't function well when he is short on sleep. Hopefully he can get a bit more sleep on the drive.
I will see you all when we get back. At this point we don't really know when that will be.

Thankfully we got home late last night after a horribly sad week, and pouring rain almost all the way home adding at least another hour to our trip.

Thanks so much Dianne, he passed away 3 hours after we got there. We are now home after the funneral yesterday. So very glad to be home, hubby and I are beat.

@m_audrey6788 We talked to him but he was unconscious until he passed away 3 hours after we got there. We hope he heard us.

@fishtiger58 It sounds like it was really a tough thing to go through, not helped by the terrible weather! At least you are home safe and sound now, and can decompress a bit.

We just made it there, he passed away 3 hours after we got there. It's been a long week and we are finally home after a long horrible ride home, it poured most of the way.

@snowy22315 So glad to be home safe, we still have a family member here and are meeting more today and tomorrow with the family, then we send hubby's sister back home to Oregon on Thursday. So I'm thinking Friday we will be completely back to normal.

Sadly he was unconscious when we got to the hospital, he passed away 3 hours later, but I think my hubby has a bit of peace because we were with him at the end.

thanks we are finally safely back home. He passed 3 hours after we got there. The ride home was miserable as it poured most of the way home, so it was a much longer trip. It's been a sad week for us.

Oh my gosh @fishtiger58, what horrible news. I drove 13 hours, non-stop, alone, to try to be at my Mothers bedside when I got the call she was dying. I didn't make it in time. I am so sorry to hear about this.
