All good picks! Lots of temptations and late night hours with the last two.

I think any job that may put a person in jeopardy could cause problems in a marriage. Ones that have a lot of responsibility too. Taking on too much responsibility can cause strain in any relationship.

@dgobucks226 ......They take their mate for granted and think everything will be okay and it isn't.

Yes, very good points! And many people have given those reasons in citing occupations that strain marriage or relationships.

@celticeagle Taking one for granted causes a lot of friction for sure! No one likes to be unappreciated.

Many hours away from family treating patients can strain a marriage or relationship.

@bluesa Yes, a great week so far. Terrific weather, the pumpkins came out great and I will post a picture of them next week. I am keeping them inside for now because the squirrels will pick them apart.

Medical - doctors, surgeons, police officers, politicians
Doctors and surgeons are on call
Police officers is a high risk occupation leaving orphans and widows if shot in the line of duty
Politicians are motivated by their passion for politics and doing whatever it takes to get the vote - family falls by the wayside.

@dgobucks226 Now you've mentioned a lot of names that I didn't know had fidelity issues. I knew about two of them.

All excellent examples. Dangerous jobs like policeman have to put strain and worry on any marriage. Doctors with long hours can make relationships strained very true. And politicians, with an all consuming job in addition to infidelity (see Clinton). Also Schwarzenegger, Sanford, Edwards, Spitzer, Giuliani, McGreevey and, depending on your definition of unfaithful, Weiner.

The top of my list would be police officers.
Not only do they have a very dangerous job, but, they're also on call at any time of day or night.
I would also add physicians to the list, the long hours the stress and also being on call at any time.there's an emergency.

@dgobucks226 Thanks DB
Actually anyone who needs to work for long hours or is away for a long period of time can cause a lot of resentment, stress and hurt feelings in any relationship

Yes the hours I am sure can cause issues. And the difficulty of their job makes it difficult to talk to their spouse about their day. Physicians, a lot of stress definitely. Very good examples.

Far away jobs, yes, that is true. I would image those in the military being away from home make it difficult on a marriage,
