Just when you thought it couldn't get any weirder, along comes #2 in my Favorite Band Names series: Alien Sex Fiend. Led by ghoulish vocalist Nik Fiend (he and wife/keyboardist Mrs. Fiend are the band's only constants, as well as the only current members,) Alien Sex Fiend came roaring out of London's batcave movement (an offshoot of goth) in 1982. The band is most known for tunes such as "E.S.T. (Trip to the Moon)" (the world's first 11 inch single!) and "Now I'm Feeling Zombiefied,) as well as a theatrical live show (The group even opened for Alice Cooper in the mid-80's.) Alien Sex Fiend has released 13 studio albums, and 22 singles. They also created and performed the music for a video game, Inferno. What can I say? A lot of bands are fun. Alien Sex Fiend is a blast.
