Sharing a Bathroom

I've been looking forward, all day, to my bath when I got home from work. Husband got home and was saying that since he had to take me to work (at 4) he woudln't have time to wash dishes, bathe both the boys and take a bath himself tonight. So I stopped what I was doing and cleaned the kitchen for him before I went to work. And also gave one our our kids his bath early. That meant there would only be 2 baths and no dish washing, so maybe I'd even have some hot water left. Meanwhile, I got off work at 9:30. Got home and he's watching tv. I eat supper then say, "I'm gonna go take my bath now." "I still have to take mine" he says. "I didn't have time earlier." "Didn't have time?" I said, "That is why I cleaned the kitchen and bathed the kid before work, so you'd have time!" But whatever. My baths are LONG, so I'd let him go first and hope he left some hot water. I came to mylot instead. Meanwhile, its almost 10:30. Husband still hasn't gotten in his bath. I get up to see, and he's laying on the sofa READING A COMIC BOOK. "Did you take a bath already and I didn't hear you?" "I decided do it in the morning." Grrrrr.....I could have been in my hot tub 30 minutes ago if you'd just let me know! So, I'm about to take my mug of sleepytime tea to a hot bath but first.... Have you ever had to share a bathroom with many people? How did you handle everyone getting a bath? Have there been fights over hot water or who gets to bathe first/last?

I would have been mad because he was just sitting there watching TV and could have had his bath done already. So unfair to you. We do not have a bath so I take showers and my Sophie does not use the shower.

Your husband sounds a bit inconsiderate. Next time jump in before him.

I grew up in a family of 7. I was the oldest of 5, and never remember having more than 1 bathroom, so we always had to fight over who got it when, and it made it quite interesting. Maybe setting up a schedule would help?

I never had to fight for the bath, but if my husband would have said to me "I had no time" and he was watching TV, I would have taken my bath without even informing him. Does he work?
