You set reasonable obtainable goals and work toward achieving them with discipline.

I'm sure your life would be healthier and more relaxed if you didn't think of goals you have to reach all the time.

@augusta123 Yes, really. You seem to follow other people's advice a lot. Let them talk. Do what is good for you and yours.

Make sure your goals help you to move forwards, and do not block you in instead.
People with goals head towards their goals, but they should also not allow themselves to be restrained by their goal posts. They should also make sure that there is not a brick wall behind their goals too! Sometimes goals can actually restrict us. If we can score some points along the way, on other side pursuits, this is sometimes also good, as long as this doesn't become a procrastination in it too much taking us away from our actual goals. Give and take is the rule here. Be flexible and balanced in your goal setting. I think though that we should always remember that all goals to be worthy of love, must not just be for the self, they must altruistically connect you to God's greater goals for you, and for your life too.

@Shiva49 Yes, I agree with that. A good goal benefits all, society, ourselves, and even God up in Heaven, I expect too.

Yes, our goals should elevate us and society too to make them meaningful and fulfilling. Selfish goals will be Pyrrhic, empty, achievements and we soon come to grief after the transient feeling of triumph. For me happiness is by giving more than taking - leave a better world with a take we all matter - siva

My life goal has been to work hard and sincerely and accept the results. That has meant I have no regrets - siva
