How do you motivate employees to do their job well and succeed? We do it by creating good relationship with them. We call it our bonding moment. Today, we, the board of directors, decided to meet our managers to get to know them, have a closer relationship and at the same time encourage them in beating each other's sales record. I listened intently to their concerns and their needs in reaching their goal. I believe that we have to know our employees by listening to their needs and not only demand what we need them to do. Addressing their concerns is the key to success. Reaching their goal by the end of the year 2017 means a three-day vacation in Boracay Island, all expense paid by the company at one of the luxurious resorts!

Wow! I always wished to work in a company who gives importance to their peoples points of view by giving them the chance to proposed it. Your employees are lucky to have directors like you and to add up a good training seminars can also help them improve their work performance but it should be evaluated according to the need

Not in this world anymore. Challenging, yes. But it's rewarding. What they earn in sales, they cannot earn in a month's employment.

@YrNemo We have been excelling for two years now. I don't personally sell anymore as I have more than 300 people to do that for me. But for big and difficult clients, as CEO and President of the company, I personally take charge over that.

oh, i remember this restaurant. you ate there with your friends, right? love your hair, too. i remember you gave a cash gift to one employee who sang well? but this is also important - talking to them about the work itself and hearing their their suggestions, since they're the ones "on the ground" so to speak.

In the strictest sense of the word (legally) I've never had employees as such...but back in the day I did have people that sort of worked for me My main way to motivate them was profit related pay and that transfers well to the world of the legal business In my company I get the same pay no matter what the company earns in profit and we don't get cash bonuses or anything. I think a good way to motivate someone is for them to have some stake in the company. Bonuses related to profits are a good start but if I ever own my own business I'd probably go further and make some employees actual stakeholders in the business in some way...if they see a direct correlation between how hard they work and how much they earn they will work harder

Actually we already made a board resolution last year regarding sharing our stocks. We have this certain amount of quota they have to reach to get them there. So there's a levelling. By the end of the year accumulated sales will earn them corresponding star badges plus additional incentives on top of incentives they get every sale they close. What you're thinking actually, we have already applied. Great minds think alike!

That is so awesome. I do think that having a good relationship with your employees and making sure that their needs are met are vital in any business organization. My former bosses used to take us out for coffee "dates", usually one at a time, just to talk about life in general. I really appreciate that they took time for these despite their busy schedule. My mother-in-law successfully ran an agency for nearly 2 decades. Her secret? She would often bring homecooked meals for her staff and agents and they would have a hearty lunch in the office. No one got hungry among her employees as long as they're at work.
