I Finally Did it!!

My cheapo smartphone has so very little storage space. I kept getting a message that I was close to running out of space. I love to take pictures with my phone. Also take videos whenever I think of it. The space was quickly eaten up by the pics I had taken. For months I tried to move the pics from my phone to my laptop. Each attempt left me frustrated and I gave up on the idea. I did manage to send some of the pics to my email. Then I sent them to my laptop. Well, last night I must have had a moment of clarity. My brain actually functioned and I was able to empty all of the pics from phone to laptop. I was able to update apps on my phone because of all of the available memory I had opened up. Have you ever had brain malfunction so bad that it takes you months to figure out a simple problem? Or do you chalk it up to stress?

I love it when the brain functions like you need it to. Yes, I've been there. I'm trying to figure something out right now on my smartphone to uninstall something I installed, and for the life of me I can't figure out how I even installed it, so I can uninstall it. I'm still getting used to my smartphone. It's already out of data, and I was told if I have wi-fi, it wouldn't eat it. So go figure how I'm out. Especially when I don't think I use it all that much.

Try going back to factory settings. Make sure you write down all of your contacts numbers first.

@ElusiveButterfly I watched the video I had seen before on how to set up and use it. I have it figured out, and when I checked my e-mail that came in on it last night, it said I still have plenty of data, so I don't know why it said I didn't. At least I now have the one app I installed, uninstalled.

My phone has very little memory. I have the facebook messenger on it, and can't download anything else for lack of space. I even put the little storage card in, but I can't move anything to it.

It can definitely take a lot of time to put all your pictures on your laptop. But it can definitely be worthwhile, especially if you can update apps and such.

I have a couple of games that I keep on my phone as well as Facebook. Nice to have these apps with you when you need to occupy yourself at a doc's office or a long ride.

@ElusiveButterfly I usually have a book with me. Doesn't need any updates, nor batteries, either.

You can open an account in a site like photobucket so every time you have a new picture you could upload it there, you can even arrange it to albums and sub albums with titles so you do not eat up the memory of both your phone & your laptop. Yes delete cached data and unused apps to free more space. Im glad you had it figured out.

@ElusiveButterfly no it's free and it's not just photobucket, you could search the net for " free" photo storage sites and you may just find one that suits you, especially if you are not a heavy user for commercial purposes and just for personal use. Yes check reviews first before signing up on any site.

I do big clear outs of pictures from my phone to my email every so often too. That way I can clear it off of my phone, because most of them aren't needed there anyways. Enjoy things running quicker now!

Haha, my brain malfunctions like that frequently. I am not always quick about problem solving, especially with technology.

Little Miss recently grabbed the remote control and did something to the television. I didn't know how to fix it I had to wait for my husband to get home.

@Marty1 I can figure out simple things in the remote. Maybe if I put my glasses on I could probably see what I'm doing and then figure it out as well.

@Marty1 I try to stimulate my brain by figuring things out. Sometimes I can figure it out and sometimes I want to throw it across the room.

@ElusiveButterfly I see. My technician was here on Tuesday and I explained why I turn my smartphone off to save on the battery because I do not carry my charger with me where I go. He told me I could get one with more battery and I told him I do not need it. I love the one I have. Anyway I want to see how the washer and frig are and if still fine want to see about getting a new stove finally.
