What should I do with broccoli?

I usually boil broccoli and have it as boiled vegetable or fry it mixed with tomatoes. Fried tomatoes are good for health, I heard a priest say that in his presentation. Before I boil or fry it, I have to submerge it water mixed with salt. The purpose is to get rid of any tiny animals. What about you? Image Credit: medicalnewstoday

I cook a lot with broccoli. From the normal "just boiled" to which you can add any dressing you like, to fritters and puddings.

I don't cook and I don't know how to prepare broccoli. But when I see them as an ingredient in my meal, I just eat them. Fried, steamed or boiled.

Yes, I know you are busy. One day maybe you want to try to cook broccoli to kill your time, once in a while.

@yanzalong I craft, cycle, or watch movies to kill time. I have no interest in cooking but I'll ask my helper to do that for me instead.

I love broccoli and eat it in many ways, even raw in salads.

If you eat it raw, do you have to submerge it in salty water to clean it?

It is best to boil broccoli first to "soften" it up. If not, it is tough and hard.

That is what I often do. Just boil it. My reason for bring this up is to find out how broccoli is cooked. I've found from mylot there are different ways of cooking it. Thank.

I prefer my broccoli steamed. That way it doesn't get soggy. I sometimes make a cheese sauce to put over it. My husband and granddaughter love it with cheese sauce. I like it plain with a little salt.

I eat it anyway I can, never had it boiled thou. Stir fry, steamed and raw. My daughter will only eat it raw and just plain nothing on it please she will say. Silly girl! We have actually been snacking on it all day and I have to have my husband buy some on his way home from work.

I steam it and sprinkle salt on it.Eating it with tomatoes or other vitamin C foods help absorb the iron.
