It happened to us years ago. We parked the car in a parking and went shopping. The car alarm started by itself (it is possible that someone touched the car). We were not around and this is the reason why we were unable to immediately stop the car. Results, we got a fine because the car made noise. We removed the alarm.

@Hatley The law here is that you must not disturb with unwanted noises, that is a good thing. I do not know why our alarm started and it did not stop. Not to risk more fines we removed the alarm.

Haven't heard any car alarms in quite some time. Perhaps there are no reasons for the car alarms to go off. Have a joyful evening.

That's another reason I don't like that people think it's okay to park your car on the street. Oh, it's legal (in Oklahoma and--it seems--everywhere else); but car-alarms are so sensitive that they'll go off at 'a strong blast of wind' (which--in Oklahoma--still comes "sweepin` down the plain") or 'the whoosh of a passing car!"
Hello, I have a neighbor whom everyday parks in front of his house completely taking up half the street, you know most people they park half in the grass and half in the street. This guy parks fully in the street for about 5-6 hours. it this legal?

Luckily here in the suburbs is all quiet. No car alarms going off but it does happen often in the city center here. When I venture into the city I can hear car alarms in many side streets.
