Did you know on this day (October 18th) in 1867, the Alaska Territory is formally transferred to the U.S. from Russia. Most Americans at the time did not like this idea of buying the "frozen wasteland". Did you also know in 1926 on this day the legendary Rock-N-Roll musician, Chuck Berry was born? One of 13 that are often credited for starting Rock-N-Roll. In 1939, Lee Harvey Oswald, a former Marine and the person blamed for the death of President John F. Kennedy, was also born on this day. Just somethings to think about is all.

I knew about Alaska, not about Chuck Berry and Lee Harvey Oswald. I surely remember that on this day in 1987 the Dow Jones stock index falls 508.32 points (22%).

I didn't know about that, I think on this day in 1987 I was in Marine Corps Infantry School in California.
