Something I may try

For my husband and I, saving is not an easy thing. It’s something we want to do, but it’s not easy. I am not working and it can be tricky to do with one income. Especially with my husband being on call. But what I might just do is start saving what I earn online. Maybe just leave it in my paypal account and let grow. Or something like that. It’s something that I may try and do. I don’t know how it’s going to go, but I want to try and see how it goes.

I have tried to do that, let it accumulate in paypal, but I end up needing it to help pay something.

Yeah I know. It’s not always easy. I used to take it for something. But now I’m going to try not to. Hopefully we can both save it.

I am saving what I earn online since I started writing online 5 years ago. What I have it's not a lot, but not very little either.

Why do you find it difficult to leave your online earnings in your paypal account? You should make a list of what you spend each month. Do it for two months. Write down what you *have* to spend, fixed costs like electricity, water, gas, etc., and what you spend on clothes, food, entertainment, etc. Then go through the list item by item and find out where you can spend less and save money. Maybe you can find a cheaper telephone company or something like that. Stop smoking?

Definitely some good tips. Not sure why it’s difficult. I guess force of habit. I’ll definitely write things down. As for stop smoking we don’t smoke. So there’s that.

It can be good to have separate accounts. Although my husband and I think of it as our money, I do have my own account, and he has his.

I leave my savings in my paypal account, which I actually have 2 of. When I want to do a little online shopping, which I usually do about once a year, I tap into that account to pay for it. It means that I didn't have to actually use my credit card or any funds in our bank account. Its a nice plan B.

All my online earnings have gone into a high interest bearing savings account, except what I donate to charity each month. You'd be surprised at how quickly it grows!!!!

I'm sure it does grow quickly. Every little bit adds up. It's kind of why I want to start saving. I'm thinking of having a savings account with a bit of interest.

Although you stay at home, you can do something to make money. For example, you can open an eshop on the net. If you are good at writing, you can write some stories as well. Wish you a suitable job as soon as possible.

You could also try the Acorn app or Stash. It is supposed to be painless investing.

Saving what you earn online is a great way to start and you'll see it start to add up. I save mine and it always makes me feel good when my numbers go up each month when we get paid here.
