Something I may try

For my husband and I, saving is not an easy thing. It’s something we want to do, but it’s not easy. I am not working and it can be tricky to do with one income. Especially with my husband being on call.
But what I might just do is start saving what I earn online. Maybe just leave it in my paypal account and let grow. Or something like that. It’s something that I may try and do.
I don’t know how it’s going to go, but I want to try and see how it goes.

I have tried to do that, let it accumulate in paypal, but I end up needing it to help pay something.

Why do you find it difficult to leave your online earnings in your paypal account?
You should make a list of what you spend each month. Do it for two months. Write down what you *have* to spend, fixed costs like electricity, water, gas, etc., and what you spend on clothes, food, entertainment, etc.
Then go through the list item by item and find out where you can spend less and save money.
Maybe you can find a cheaper telephone company or something like that. Stop smoking?

I keep my money in paypal, my hubby in his bank account. We don't join the money together. But he saves a lot

I support you. I am also saving on my paypal, one day if I may be healthy enough to work outside I will use this money as allowance to eat and transport.

I leave my savings in my paypal account, which I actually have 2 of.
When I want to do a little online shopping, which I usually do about once a year, I tap into that account to pay for it. It means that I didn't have to actually use my credit card or any funds in our bank account. Its a nice plan B.

You could also try the Acorn app or Stash. It is supposed to be painless investing.

Saving what you earn online is a great way to start and you'll see it start to add up. I save mine and it always makes me feel good when my numbers go up each month when we get paid here.
