"Pollution has been linked to nine million deaths worldwide in 2015, a report in The Lancet has found." That is 24, 657 people each day. Do you believe that? Is pollution really this serious? http://www.bbc.com/news/health-41678533

I'm not surprised at all. The young, elderly, and those with health issues are extremely at risk.

@1hopefulman That is way too much. The worst I ever saw was in Xi'an, China. It looked and smelled horrible. We went from pure sunshine into what looked like a yellow, cloudy day.

I have a hard time believing it, but then, maybe in other parts of the world... maybe it is a more serious issue.

Yes, it seems that some parts of the earth are in terrible shape. I looked at some documentaries and videos and it is not good.

Yes it is very serious, today we have restrictions due to the high pollution of the air caused by many days without rain and fog. The air in the northern Italian cities (like Milan and Turin) is highly polluted and it reached our area.

@1hopefulman No, because the politicians do nothing to stop the pollution. The buses used in Italy for the public transport are highly polluting because they are powered by Diesel. They should start to make electric all the public transports, but they do nothing.

I suppose it can be. I know many suffer illnesses from air pollution and they have to wear masks to walk around outside. So yes, it can be so serious.

I'm afraid to say but I think it will just keep getting worse. There is so much we can do but we are doing very little compared to the problem we are causing.

@peachpurple that is not good! We need to be the majority to reduce the severity of the problem. But, we will continue to do what we can.

We have come a long way. Now we have such great pictures of the earth from outer space. But there is really large dark spot over Asia as well as all around the world. The camera is filtered to detect carbon dioxide emissions and other gases. Oh its there no doubt about it.

@JudyEv I sometimes walk along the highway and it's terrible how much stuff is just thrown out the window. People are always throwing stuff along the rivers. It seems that to some people the whole world is a garbage can.

@1hopefulman We've really only been to Ireland, the UK and the continent and mostly we stayed out of big cities but we didn't really see any signs of pollution. I know friends have spoken of it in some Asian cities.

Pollution is major serious. Anytime we have three legged frogs. There needs to be better laws to make sure toxic waste is not created plus dumped into water, soil and air.

I went on the internet and there are enough documentaries and videos to see that harm and destruction we are doing to the planet. I don't want to be part of the problem but part of the solution and so I will continue to do my part to lessen the damage. I got rid of my car and now walk as much as I can and use public transportation if necessary.

@Behindtheguitarbar I don't care what anyone else is doing or not doing but I will continue to do my part as that makes God happy since it is his planet.

Pollution is serious. It is said garbage in garbage out, for so long we have neglected to see he impact of new technologies and changes happening around us and caused by us. Some of the things happening today are as a result of environmental pollution
