They've been forecasting it for days, and they got it right this time. For awhile last night it was actually coming down fairly hard. The ground is still wet as I look out my window.
They said it would only be about 1/4" in most areas, but it should be enough to help with the various fires burning around here. I'll listen in on the radio as I head to work. Any rain where you are?

It is overcast and gloomy this morning in LA. There was a mist before dawn.

@JohnRoberts Weird - the sun was out - and now it's overcast (at 4:30) - I wish it meant rain, but I doubt it!

Glad your area has been getting some much needed rain. I wonder if Southern California has had sufficient rainfall lately, even though they are not in the area of the fires?

Hope th Packers can adjust to their loss. Maybe a rainy day will give the new QB time to adjust without having to throw 30 passes. I'm glad Roger's buddy, Smith, is doing well with KC, though I had to root for the Raiders to win last night.

@TheHorse - Yes, we do. Five years ago we actually got evacuated for 18 hours because one got a little close. But nothing like Santa Rosa.

We have had some long awaited short rains over here. The sun and dust was getting us worried. The rains still isn't much but we hope it will continue for sometime.

@chunchunwadaddy Because the ground is dry and can't absorb it?

@TheHorse Yes we do and unfortunately when it rains it's heavy thus causes mild floods in those areas.

So did the rains bring down the temperatures, or did they bring in more humidity?

Not till this weekend. Last Sunday night we got an unexpected all night rain, I was so glad as was my field of turnip and mustard greens, kale and collards.

No rain here for a while, but the temperatures have been seesawing back and forth. We have also had the occasional doom and gloom day as well.

Now in the autumn we get rain like three days in a row. Then some sun and then more rain.

We're supposed to get rain late Sunday into Monday but the weekend looks bright and sunny. Glad you got some rain and hopefully it helped with the fires.

Hopefully it will help with the fires @TheHorse . It's suppose to rain here in Texas over the next several days too. Like my lawn isn't high enough already.

The cushion for the swing in my yard is SOAKED! When I hung it over a rack to dry, the water just poured out of it. Still, I'd rather have a soaked cushion that takes a few days to dry than deal with more fires.
