Cable Or WiFi

The last place I lived was an apartment on the other side of the river, a different county, and I had the package of cable, home phone and internet all for $100 a month. Then when I moved to this county and in the woods I had to pay separate for each and its closer to $200 per month for those three services. A few days ago I got an offer in the mail, usually I do not get excited because I will call and I will get the same old same old, we do not come out that far. I called this time to hear the deal of this company and they do come out this far! The first three months $40, for all three, new customer and then $100 a month for 24 months. Although its cheaper for all three I do not think I will get all my channels but I would have unlimited internet, but.... the internet would be tied down to one room, one box and I usually take the wifi with me when I am over night at the hospital and even traveling. I really don`t care about a home phone but I do need one for the rentals and Tony to talk on, sometimes he talks for hours. So many decisions, I am paid up till mid November for the dish and till the first week of November for the phone and wifi, so I have time ..... How much is the triple play where you live? ( t.v., phone and internet)

It's around $120 per month which is why we couldn't do it. Just too much for us right now so we are getting the low income internet for $10 a month, which we can also watch some shows on. We have our cell phones that we use with unlimited talk and text for $50 per month so we are good there too.

You cannot compare our costs here in Latvia to yours there. At present I get my Internet and over the net Interactive TV but I never watch the TV since there is nothing much to watch. My phone is now separate and for me I am always pinching pennies to make sure I can pay my Internet every month.

@RasmaSandra I am sure that you have to pay a very stiff price in Latvia.

I don't know as we don't do cable, we got the Roku. For Internet and home phone it is 4113.80 a month thru Verizon. We used to get all 3 thru another company but it kept going up until when it hit around 200 I was over it.

@andriaperry It is something like the Firestick, it streams netflix and other channels to your TV thru the internet.

Is this the letter A company? Or D company? WiFi is okay but cabled internet access is faster.

@andriaperry I don't know why I came up with those letters. AT&T and Dish are what I meant.

@andriaperry I kind of want to get rid of cable. We hardly ever even watch it and it's so expensive.

Have you considered cancelling cable and signing up for Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime? Cheaper services and whole seasons available at one time!

All of those would be cheaper than $29 per month? and I would have my computer free for me to write?

@andriaperry I believe Netflix is $10 a month. Prime is more expensive, but it comes with lots of perks. Free books, movies, shipping, etc.

That's very expensive in your side. I pay for the mobile phone, landline and internet separately because the mobile phone and other two services don't belong to the same company.

It is very cheap here because we have several ISP fighting to get customers. Their average price is about $35 for a triple play, but they have constantly discount offers to encourage people to change. I moved last year and signed for 2 years with a different provider, at 9.99 Euros for the first year and 19.99 Euros for the second year. When I will be free to change next year, I will switch to another one with a low offer. The only thing to not do is to stuck on the same, as they increase every year the price of the subscription by a few Euros.

I really don`t need one! I do not talk to the tenants but once a month unless something needs repaired. The only problem is Tony, he needs one.

I also have an issue when it comes to paying all my bills, and it's almost the end of the month next week. I need to pay electricity, internet, and my laptop. And thinking about it makes me anxious.
