Do you think Climate Change is actually a bad thing for planet Earth?

What I mean by this question is ... Do you think global climate change from global warming is such a bad thing for the planet Earth in the long run? It is currently a threat to life as we know it. But, in the long run, won't it be possible for new life forms to emerge out of the ashes of this particular epoch, in which humans are the current dominant species on the planet? And if the dinosaur's demise never happened, wouldn't us humans never have come to exist? I needed to add this to my discussion because the title in and of itself is misleading. If the world was perfect the dinosaur would still be around. If the planet had ideal climate then we all would have other things to worry about, for instance .... Population overgrowth still is a real threat to all life on the planet at the moment. Running out of good land to grow things and running out of oil is expected over the next 50 to 100 years from now, so what then? It's all pretty obvious to me that even without planetary storms and floods and volcanoes and earth quakes and forest fires, there would be .... Crime will always happen. Morality and immorality will always be forces against each other in the story of mankind as a whole. If you reason that the planet Earth is just a temporary place for current life forms you would be correct. Sooner or later another ELE will happen. It may not happen in our lifetime but it will happen eventually. If it were possible, people would be trying their best to just live and let live. Don't you think that is better than kill or be killed? Once we master the art of living, not killing, we as a species might hang around another million years or more. By then, humans will reach the stars. Not in my lifetime for sure, but I do hope to see the launch of the first manned expedition to occupy the surface of Mars before the year 2020. I would like to share this YouTube about the latest news about man's attempt to send another Rover to look for ancient life called Mars 2020, but it will not be people going there, but still it will be going in the right direction. I look forward to this NASA mission currently being planned for.
In 2020, NASA will send a new rover to the Martian surface with one of its objectives to search for evidence of ancient life on the planet. I made this clip ...

Yes, it is. I do know it. I am trying to put the idea out there that, in spite of us destroying the planet from it, maybe some will actually find a way to survive and other species might still exist even if humans do all the self destruction that they can manage by polluting the atmosphere and causing such a thing as global dimming, acidification of the oceans, more industry putting hydrocarbons in the atmosphere and the subsequent rise in methane gasses from melting permafrost. I don't like it and think we need to put a stop to it, but short of people moving to another planet, our days are numbered as a species. We have all taken part in the global rise of temperature and the rise of the ocean waters.

@NJChicaa , Well in that case the roaches of the planet are the true survivors.

@lookatdesktop They call it "survival of the fittest" for a reason.

Climate change is inevitable regardless of whose to blame but I for one hope mankind does not find a way to reach another planet so they can destroy that one as well.

I doubt we'll get that far @lookatdesktop unless there is a breathable atmosphere we're not likely to establish any kind of livable colony, we aren't that advanced and hopefully never will be, we are much to selfish of a species.

The nearest potential habitable planet is so far away it would take thousands of light years to get there and we will never reach that level of technology. We might be able to terraform Mars or one of the moons of Jupiter but that is as far as it will get in my opinon.

Every day we destroy forests, amimal life, plant life and insect life. About 50 or more species become extinct every day and are never heard of again. If that doesn't make us stop and really think about that next drive in our gas guzzling cars and Sports Utility Vehicles or Jet flight to our next business meeting, nothing will compel us to just say no to killing planet earth with CO2 and nitrous oxides and a great number of other emissions pollutants that come out of the exhast pipes. I for one could live without a car. I for one don't even like cars becuse they are the main reasons the sky is getting dimmer and the air is unfit to breath.

What I know is that yearly a new kind of virus and bacteria are being found that causes big concern to our health and threat to our lives. I just don't know if this is because of climate change.

Warmer weather can cause certain insects to migrate further north to cooler climates that are not as cool as before. Certain super viruses have developed indirectly as a result of people using antibiotics in excess. There are more people traveling around the planet so of course, the spread of exotic diseases is potentially more likely to occur and of course, new bugs might be developing simply as a result of climate change but I would be speculating about this.

Maybe so but some of the virus are not really familiar like h5n1, h1n1, chikungunya, ebola, dengue, human immuno among others. I mean they are just getting their names now.

uhh... no, climate change is still really concerning

Yes it concerns me also. I am not able to just accept the facts as they are and surely do not claim to agree with the argument that because of human induced global warming and climate change the life expectancy of our planet or at least man's expectancy from it is under 10 years from now according to scientific speculation from a number of sources.

If the dinosaurs are still living with us, we won't be worried about the overpopulation of the human race, I would guess. Egyptians wouldn't have built the pyramids and we won't be having skyscrapers when dinos can just pluck us from there like ripe fruits from a tree. I'd be thinking that we'd be worrying more about how we could survive as a species. And global warming would be the furthest thing from our minds. This is just my opinion.
