Last 19th of October was the first anniversary of the wrath of super-typhoon Lawin. It was the strongest and most devastating severe weather disturbance here in my place, even reaching the highest signal number 5 because of the heavy rains and strongest winds.
I did not wish to be reminded of our experience on that day but as I watch the news on TV about some establishments still needing government financial support for the rehabilitation, I cannot help but feel sorry but at the same time thankful, because we were able to survive that super-typhoon.
It was more-than-2-months of no electricity and no internet connection situation, and several days of no water supply, that left us living like the old days of just candles giving us light.
This is one anniversary that I do not wish to celebrate as well, but with our resilience, we are able to get back in to our present lives again.

I had the plan to just be here because I have 2 duty days for this second semester. I was happy because at last, I might earn the $5 in a month's time, but...

i agree. if not for our beadle to state that last 19th was the anniversary of the typhoon, i would rather forget it intentionally.

@bluesa yes, and i paid for the repair. now, my son would start and get it working once a week so the machine won't get rusty and it will be in good condition.

yes, even though no electricity, water supply, and extensive destruction in one's property as long as we are alive, that is already a gift from God.

I never actually learn from the experience of ondoy. But if I start stocking pile tin cans now we might end up having them expire. I think there's going to be storm but not strong, not even rain.

No one who have experience natural calamities would like to be reminded of it especially those who have been traumatize by the event. I still get anxious even when it is only a mild tremor, having experience the devastating earthquake of 1990
BTW, what happen to the fishes in the aquarium? I use to raise tropical fishes when I was a teenager.

I am still in a state of uncertainty if I should continue Mylotting, especially now that the internet is still far from the remotest idea of resurrection here...
