I want to resign

I am currently working in Goma, a small town located in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. I am working as an expatriate in the HR department here for the past nine months. These days, I am not too happy with the way things are going though I admit that when I just joined, the feeling was different. I feel I am not being recognized for all my contributions to the company but I am rather being targeted for mistakes committed by my predecessors. I feel tired. I want to go back home. I want to resign. But the only fear I have is what do I do next. I have no idea. Sometimes, I feel like starting up a business of my own but then, I am scared to venture into the uncertain. Finding a job too is not easy though I am qualified. I feel lost.

I can understand your feeling. Could you at least look for and apply for jobs closer to home?

It must be hard working in another country, especially if you are not appreciated. I hope you manage to find something better.

Yes. Despite all that I am contributing to the company, the business owner seems not to value me. I only have the support of my General Manager. He is from Australian and he always believe in me.
