In a move that will raise the eyebrows of fans of the New York Mets fan base, the management of the Mets are expected to hire current Cleveland Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway to succeed Terry Collins who resigned as the manager of the team at the end of the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Callaway has been the pitching coach of the Cleveland Indians from 2013 to the present. The Mets feel that Callaway is the right choice to manage the Mets even though he has no Major League Baseball experience since his body of work with the Cleveland Indians as their pitching coach made the Indians World Series contenders throughout his tenure with the American League Central American champions team. Callaway will have the task of working with a very good starting pitching staff with the Mets if he is hired to replace Collins who managed the Mets from 2011-2017.

Mickey has the tools to get the Mets back into playoff contention since he has the resume of turning around the Indians pitching staff.

Let's see....and Collins will go to the Sox, and Farrell will go to the Nationals, and Dusty Baker will go to the Padres..... They call it "the coaching carousel" for a reason.

Musical chairs in the Major League Baseball game. In the case of the Nationals, their owner makes the late George Steinbrenner who fired his managers at a rapid pace look like Art Rooney by comparison.

The Mets should be in contention to make a playoff run in the near future.

@MarymargII Me too since I like the Mets as well as the Yankees even though my relatives from my late dad side of the family are no longer living in the New York City area.
