Favorite "Bodies of Water" Songs #3 - "The Crystal Ocean"

Here we are at my second "Oh gee, go figure" moment of the day. @FourWalls recently did a couple "bodies of water" music countdowns, songs with bodies of water in the title. I am basing this series on her idea. I've reached #3: "The Crystal Ocean" by my favorite band, The Mission (known as The Mission UK here in the US.) After forming in 1986 in Leeds, England, The Mission followed a path familiar to many bands: they released singles/EP's (titled in numerical order Roman Numeral-style) until securing a recording contract. "The Crystal Ocean" was released in 1986 as part of "II," which featured both "Garden of Delight" and the band's cover of Neil Young's "Like a Hurricane" as the single ("II" reached #49 in the UK.) The Mission's second major label release, 1987's The First Chapter, was a compilation of the material from the first two EP's, although the "II" version of "The Crystal Ocean" was substituted out for an extended version. I have no idea why they did this, but after listening to it about a gazillion times, it's the version that I'm most used to anyway. I've linked to a 2004 live performance filmed in Germany, from the band's two-DVD (plus live CD) set, Lighting the Candles. "The Crystal Ocean" might not have been a hit, but as you'll see, it makes for a hell of a setlist opener. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Come to think of it, the next two are "shockers" as well.

The next two also fit in to the "no surprise" category as well. In fact, I need to get on with #2 here very soon.
