With the new SHowmax coming to SA we have been able to watch some recent and current shows that are available in the USA. The one that has gripped me and has my undivided attention is Keifer Sutherland who portrays the Designated Survivor - President of USA in the series. I have gotten to the end of Series One, so if you have already seen Series Two, please don't spoil it for me with any peeks into what happens. In watching the series I noted that Keifer is much shorter than all his counterparts and I wondered if there was a certain HEIGHT requirement for any USA President or ANY President for that matter. So I got onto the ever faithfully google and it seems that Keifer comes in at a shortness of 1,75m which fits pretty much in the middle of all the Presidents of the USA. "Abraham Lincoln at 1.94m surmounts Lyndon B. Johnson (1.92m) as the tallest president. James Madison, the shortest President, was 1,65m" Very silly things catch my eye as I watch movies, so when you watch a movie, what are the facts or fictions that make you think?

I haven't heard of the show, so no worries from me. I never thought about the president's height, though I did know Abraham Lincoln was the tallest. It depends on the movie. If it's a period piece, I pay attention to the details of the time period it's set in. I tend to do that without thinking about it, but it's what I remember when the movie is over. I pay attention to the city where the movie takes place. So I guess you might say, I pay attention to the background. Even the style clothes they wear.

then you are like me - I find things in movies to interest me other than the storyline.

@Inlemay Always, and if it's a favorite movie and I have it in my video cabinet, I watch them over again and always see something I missed. By then I also have the dialog down pretty good as well.

Familiar with the series but haven't watched any of the episodes. As for your question, I usually take notice of real events/person and I check or do research online how factual the movie the event or the person.

It is a beautiful show indeed ... With s2 almost at halfway, they have to pick the speed for it to be anywhere close to the first one
