Days are getting shorter

I guess it's that time of the year where the days are getting shorter. We can notice it more than a month or two ago. I guess we have to expect it. At least, for those of us who are seeing fall and winter coming. It's kind of sad to see them get shorter. I know I have to live with it, and I did see it coming, but I don't always like it. Such is life though.

It will be worse once we have the time change. Not my favorite time of year. Give me the sun and the more daylight, the better!

@DianneN I feel like a hermit when it gets dark so fast. I could hole up for days.

@DianneN - Could you go against the nature and natural weather conditions?

I don’t like it when the days get shorter. I’d much rather the longer days, like you.

I was talking with a co-worker about this the other day, how much we've noticed that it is getting dark much earlier now. Of course, neither of us had any idea when Daylight Savings Time ends, we had to go look it up. I thought it was this weekend; my co-worker thought it was next weekend. It turns out, it's the first weekend in November!

@moffittjc That's true. The sun coming up earlier is always nice.

@dodo19 I certainly don't like when it gets dark so early, but I must admit I do like seeing the sun come up much earlier!

I agree! It seems like all of a sudden the day is so much shorter, but I know it's been a process that I just haven't been paying attention to

Daylight Savings Time will be happening all too soon. That makes me feel a little bit blah. Having it become dark by 5 isn't high on my list of fun things.

@dodo19 I usually am home before it gets dark so driving isn't a problem for me.

Here also days are becoming shorter, as the winter is approaching fast and it happens every year. I am unable to understand that shorter days are making you sad. It is a natural phenomenon which happens every year and you should take it on your stride.

I know that it's normal. For us, winter means much colder weather. So, shorter days is just a sign of our cold winters.

I got up about 5 this morning. It was dark. I went back to bed about 7, and it wasn't all that much lighter. Got up again about 8:30. It was lighter but no sunshine. Sigh. With the short days, I feel like going to bed at 7pm. It seems as if it's later.

I know what you mean. There isn't a huge difference between 5 am and 7 am, in terms of sunlight.

I like this time of year...I just wish it would cool down here to match the shorter days. It doesn't even feel like fall because it's so warm.

Hopefully it does cool down for you. It can be strange when the weather doesn't cool down in the fall.

Yup it's getting darker earlier and that's one thing I hate about summer ending. Pretty soon we'll be turning out clocks back for daylight savings time

Its okay with me because longer night means colder and comforting time for us. During daytime it is so hot.
