I guess being a football coach at the University of Florida in Gainesville is tougher than being The Man Of Steel in attempts to make the Gator football fans happy this year. Florida football coach Jim McElwain during his press conference with the sports media on Monday claims that he, his assistant coaches and his football players have been targets of death threats. Even though McElwain has coached the Gators to two straight South Eastern Conference (SEC) East Division titles, the 2017 Gators who are currently with an overall record of 3 wins and 3 losses are feeling the wrath of some football fans over a game. Give me a break. Come on Gator fans, the coach is doing the best he can to win football games in one of the toughest football conferences in America. It is not give anyone a license to make death threats against of the football players and coaches of the team. Please remember this rule. It is only a football game for your entertainment unless you placed a bet on the game your team lost, quit making a huge deal of it.

Agree or disagree for some Alumni it is a big deal. Right or wrong many fans live vicariously through their college teams. Very much so in the SEC and I am sure other conferences as well. With the amount of money spent on head coaches and facilities by the University and boosters they expect a winner. They do not want to hear it is a tough conference. If you won National Titles in the past it is expected again. 3-3 just will not cut it with these fans. Especially, when their neighboring state (Alabama) is competing for championships yearly.

@Deepizzaguy Fans are fickle George I am guilty of the same thing at times. My NY Jets are hard to watch sometimes, but I keep hoping they will be good each year and still root for them.

I know what you mean. One thing to second guess a coach but asking for his life to end is crossing the line.
