NaNoWriMo + How to Knit a Love Song

I have read on myLot about people participating in Nanowrimo. I picked up this book called How to Knit a Love Song because I enjoy knitting. Then I was interested to read that the author wrote her first draft of her novel during Nanowrimo. I found that interesting as I have never come across a book that resulted from that program.
I enjoyed the basic story of a young woman moving to the country to begin a new life and I enjoyed the knitting references. The romance was quite predictable.
At the end was a pattern to knit a sweater! I enjoyed checking that out too.
Here is an explanation of Nanowrimo.

@allen0187 are you going to try it this year? I am not. I don't think there is a novel in me.

Really? *(Linda), Actually, I never heard of it until I joined a writing website back in 2007 which doesn't pay it's writers in money, ever, but rather does gift points that can be used for different things on the site itself.
The link below takes you to the site and is loaded with pages of people trying to write a novel during November. It appears that some of the links can be viewed while others need a membership or registration.
Disclamer: While I'm still a member, I get nothing from people looking at the site or signing up.

When I was younger, I dreamed of being a fiction novelist. Somewhere along the way, I lost my creativity and I have never written a thing.

@paigea I get so frustrated with myself. When I was younger it seemed to flow more than it does today. Well flow for these days is a strong word. Perhaps I should say totally dried up. I keep thinking positive and praying that something will come back!

@Shellyann36 I dreamed of being a fiction writer too. Every time I started to work on my great ideas I got no where!

I've participated in NaNoWriMo several times and always won the challenge of 50K words in 30 days. I'm thinking about doing it again this year since I don't have a project at the moment. Well I do, Uncertain Future, but I can always work on one from scratch and see what happens. It's always a lot of fun.

Yes there are quite a few members here who enter this every year, it is not something I am interested in but I admire their desire to write a novel.

I read a lot about Nanowrimo on social media. Wish I have the time and talent to participate in such things.

I always lay claim to a lack of time for this, but really I just lack the motivation. I may do it this year.

I think I have no time to write a novel lol but I must admit I admire those who know how to knit. I don't have that skill.

I don't knit, but I do know basic stitches of crochet and some years ago, crocheted a basic blanket.

I've done nanowrimo several times. Twice I worked on novel ideas whereas, the rest of the times even though I got to 50,000 words I did it as a rebel which is a legit way to do the contest too. That way all my bubblews posts plus emails and anything else I wrote in that month counted.
There is a writing site that doesn't pay any money out, but helps those that want to get better at writing. They do contests to get ready for nanowrimo although those are usually done in the month of October. They do things to help people develop the different characters and things like that. A few of us here on mylot were members on that site first.

@paigea Maybe, but not this year. November isn't the easiest month for me to do that since we're still busy with the business. If I ever did it that way, write or work on a novel, that is, I'd maybe work on an idea I've already begun.

I've had a rocky relationship with knitting since high school. So far my fingers refuse to shape anything pretty with yarn.
