Monday Exam - Electroencephalography - Scared to Death!

Hello dear friends, Since yesterday night I was anxious about this exam, as I have never performed it. I went to the clinic to an EEG - Electroencephalography (abbreviation in English) and all went so very fine. I almost slept on the couch during all the exam and results will be available on November 13th. Well, for those who are following my fight against coronary problems, my doctor said it can be related to anxiety and panic disorder. We are investigating it deeply and let's hope for the best, whichever the best may be! Next Wednesday I will go through another magnetic resonance imaging of my heart and I will be inside that tube for one hour, as the doctor said. Oh Lord, please, have some mercy and make me sleep during the exam! Do you feel afraid of these exams just like I do? What is your experience? Wish you all a great and positive Monday!

Just like me for some exams. This one scared me because I've never been through it, but now I am feeling fine. Thanks God this one is over. Next one this coming Wednesday and I know this will be worse!

I've had many EEG's done, I'm glad that you were able to relax so much, I never could. I hope that you have a good experience with your next testing in a week.

I will really try @Juliaacv, but I am sure magnetic resonance is something that really scares me. I went through one this last Saturday for just 20 minutes, and I was with a strong tachycardia that I was almost dying inside that tube!

After finishing the process I could realize it was really simple, but never being through one caused me a little anxiety. Now I am fine at home, waiting for the translation projects to arrive so I can work a little and think about other things. (Later, I will be with a friend for a coffee and I still have to solve a huge problem, but she will be with me at this moment and all will be fine!) Thank you so much for the words @m_audrey6788!

Try to take it easy and they might well be nice people and talk you through any procedure. Hope its not half as bad as what it might seem. Fingers crossed for you that the results are good.

i am glad that the test went okay, and be positive that the other will be okay too. I heard somewhere that if you request it they will give you a sedative before that kind of exam.

Yes, you are right. I talked to my cardiologist and he said I can be medicated with a light sedative to feel more comfortable. But, in fact, I don't know if I want that. I am just too afraid of losing conscience and if something happens I won't be able to press the button. But I am thinking. A friend of mine will be there with me and it will make me feel a little better.
