So much talk about another war

Most of us have witnessed a war or two in our lifetime, but the thoughts of one in the near future scares me a lot. We haven't even totally recovered from some past wars and many men and women that fought in any of them still have the effects from them.
What are your thoughts and concerns if we do end up facing something like this? My dad was an army medic during World War II and my brother was in the Marine Corp in the late 50's. My grand father was in the Coast Guard and my cousin in the war in Korea. My 20 year old grandson just joined the Navy and will be going to Seal training very soon.
Isn't it time to say we have all had enough. Will the world ever live in peace? It shouldn't be that hard.

Although war is bad and I feel for the soldiers, when they sign up they do know what its for, not an education but to go to war is need be

WE just have to be patient and understanding of our differences and accept each other for who we are. Fight starts because of differences in beliefs and ideals. Hope we learn to be united as one.

@ramapo17 Yeah if only we can be united as one, it would be really great. But I know it's just a dream because humans are greedy and full of pride. We seem to push our personal interests most of the time which lead to disagreements.

I can relate to you as my grandson enlisted himself.

Sadly, no. Humankind seems been to destruction. We have now two wars in Afghanistan, our longest war ever and Iraq (seems a long time too). We have soldiers being killed in African countries and in danger in many places. We have a war-mongering president in the White House who never served,(5 five deferrals for bone spurs in Vietnam) and nor did his children. I am afraid that peace is unattainable.

My grandson joined the Army Reserves, four years ago. He is ready to do whatever is necessary, even though I object, totally. War is never good, this never accomplishes anything, in the end.

My grandpa told me something in world war II. But apparently, I hardly could feel it as my grandpa. Now, no one could tell me something about the war except the history books.
